New GST Number

The Goods and Services Tax or GST, is a kind of indirect tax. It is imposed on almost all the Goods and services except some. It is an additional amount of money taken on products we buy. The sellers take this money in the name of tax and then forward it to the Government. The sellers have to first register for GST and then they will get a GST number. This will prove that they have authority to collect GST.  In this blog we will see how to register a new GST number online.

What is Online GST Registration?

There are some GST rules which have to be followed by everyone. These rules are given under the GST Act of 2017. They have to go through the GST registration process and obtain the GSTIN. This process can be done online. The consumers pay the tax indirectly to the Government through the sellers. Earlier before GST was implemented, there were many taxes imposed. However, to reduce the number of taxes, GST was introduced. Only the ones who have registered for GST have the right to collect it. After registration a GST number is provided. This number is unique for everyone. This number is mentioned on all the invoices provided by the sellers.  However, many create a fake GST number and misguide the consumers. Therefore, the consumers must be alert. They must crosscheck the GST number before paying the tax.
